Springs flex to solve engineering problems
A new series of Flexi-Hinge devices from Sterling Instrument offer optimum solutions to many of today"s engineering problems including their use in: optical mounts, belt tensioners, linear positioners and sensitive measuring instruments. The design uses crossed springs made to exacting tolerances of 400 series stainless steel, capsuled in a cylindrical housing, to provide angular travel up to ±30 degrees. They are frictionless, require no lubrication, can function at limited angular travels indefinitely, are self-centring when unloaded and have extremely low hysteresis. Lubrication migration and brinelling are eliminated.
