Protex extends ex-stock stainless bandclamp range

Protex Fasteners has extended its range of ex-stock stainless steel bandclamps to include components from 24mm to 615mm diameter. Grip diameters up to 45mm are accommodated by Protex type 61-1750-PBC-SS platform bandclamps, whose ten model range incorporates a triangular platform for the latch to be closed against. This feature optimises the fastener"s geometry during closing, avoiding the need for excessive operating pressure and/or the subsequent relaxation of grip as the latch mechanism goes over-centre of small diameter parts. In addition, all platform bandclamp variants incorporate a safety catch that prevents inadvertent opening, even under severe shock or vibratory loads.

Hollow internally threaded parts

With the increasing demand for hollow parts with internal thread, Arnold Umformtechnik has taken the decision to expand its existing product line. In future Arnold will be including several new special components in its product portfolio, manufactured using machinery made by Streicher Maschinenbau. The machine meets Arnold"s quality criteria requirements in full, and Arnold reports that it will be using the same machine for its existing product lines.

Washer faced wing screws allow easy assembly

UV curing adhesive

RiteLok UV curing adhesives are high performance, single component products which polymerise when exposed to ultraviolet light. Invisible, instant and high strength, RiteLok UV adhesives give a controlled cure at room temperature and can be used for bonding glass, metal and plastic combinations where at least one of the surfaces allow optimised penetration of ultraviolet light.

Dispenser offers increased output

The EFD Ultra 1400 dispenser makes it easy to fill or "pot" switches, capacitors and other recessed components with the same amount of epoxy every time, without rework or repetitive hand motions. The Ultra 1400 is a compact benchtop unit that uses a microprocessor-based digital timer and controlled air pressure to regulate the amount of epoxy dispensed.

Springs flex to solve engineering problems

A new series of Flexi-Hinge devices from Sterling Instrument offer optimum solutions to many of today"s engineering problems including their use in: optical mounts, belt tensioners, linear positioners and sensitive measuring instruments. The design uses crossed springs made to exacting tolerances of 400 series stainless steel, capsuled in a cylindrical housing, to provide angular travel up to Â±30 degrees. They are frictionless, require no lubrication, can function at limited angular travels indefinitely, are self-centring when unloaded and have extremely low hysteresis. Lubrication migration and brinelling are eliminated.

Bostik removes toluene from adhesives range

Bostik reports that it is set to make its entire range of adhesives toluene-free. The company's stance means its products will be completely toluene-free well in advance of expected EU legislation. Although a definite date is not yet available, it is predicted that new legislation limiting the use of toluene in manufacturing will be implemented towards the end of 2006. However, an effective ban on toluene products used by the general public is likely to come into force even earlier.
