Yaskawa’s expansion and investment program continues apace with the opening of a new centre for robotic welding, milling and material handling applications in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. The Yaskawa Northern Technology Centre represents a significant investment in excess of £250k and will enable Yaskawa to showcase solutions for welding, cutting and palletising applications.

After launching its comprehensive DrivePro family of life cycle support services, Danfoss Drives has now announced the appointment of the first two approved DrivePro partner companies PnP Motion Controls of Mossley, Greater Manchester and Varicon 3D Drives of Malvern in Worcestershire. Both companies are long standing members of the Danfoss UK wide service partner network and will complement Danfoss in the delivery of the nine services that currently make up the DrivePro portfolio: Start Up, Preventive Maintenance, Extended Warranty, Remote Monitoring, Remote Expert Support, Spare Parts, Exchange, Upgrade and Retrofit. These underpin all service and support for the Danfoss and Vacon branded drive products.

New plastic clamp concept from Igus for triflex R energy chains on cobots

Collaborative robots, or cobots, are mainly used as assistants in simple or interactive activities and, in contrast to large and fast industrial robots, work hand in hand with humans. That is why cobot and industrial robot service engineers are already using igus' multi-axis round triflex R e-chains. In addition to conventional metal clamps for industrial robots, Igus has developed new plastic mounting clamps that attach the energy chain to the robotic arm both quickly and easily.

Enrichment of the mk profile system with D28 round tube system

Two profile cross-sections with a diameter of 28 mm as well as a small number of form-fitting and stable connecting elements will soon expand the mk profile system. The new D28 round tube system was developed for lean production purposes to provide more streamlined and economical use of production resources. Almost any design for individual workshop and assembly equipment can be built using only 13 standard components.
