Universal Robots" productivity roadshows recommence

Universal Robots announces the return of its productivity roadshows, helping SME manufacturers to address labour shortages, improve output and make their operations more competitive. The first of these free to attend events will be taking place in Oxford on 22 September before visiting Carlisle on 12 October and Sheffield on 7 December.

Accurate and stable actuator for an automatic screwdriving application

Accuracy, repeatability and stability were the key performance requirements specified for an actuator to be used in an automatic screwdriving application for AVK Plastics, a manufacturer of synthetic surface boxes and pallets based in the Netherlands. AVK Plastics turned to HepcoMotion after the previous actuator could not provide the high stability required, causing them to need a replacement.

Mills CNC, a machine tool supplier based in Leamington Spa, has chosen to use a laser triangulation sensor from Micro-Epsilon in one of its bespoke machine tool automation cells (SYNERGi) with a primary focus on inspecting large, hot rolled steel railway fishplates.

Sulzer supplies pumps for ambitious PTA expansion project

Sulzer is providing 87 pumps for a variety of applications in Hengli Petrochemical (Huizhou)’s latest purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plants. The equipment will be used in two new processing units at Daya Bay Petrochemical Park, Huizhou, China, to support a total production capacity of 2x2.5 million tons per year.

Renishaw has renewed its longstanding sponsorship of Greenpower, an international charity that challenges young people aged nine to 25 to design, build and race electric cars. Renishaw first sponsored Greenpower’s UK Western Region Heat at the Castle Combe Circuit, Wiltshire in 2006 and continued the tradition with its sponsorship of this year's heat on September 5th, 2021.
