Westermo strengthens European presence with new Benelux office

Arne Kloosterman (pictured), an experienced international sales and business development director has been named as managing director of Westermo Benelux. This expansion is driven in part by the rapid growth of the renewable energy sector in the region, where government-backed infrastructure initiatives have accelerated investments in wind, solar, and energy storage projects in both the Netherlands and Belgium.

Reflecting this trend, Westermo has recently experienced increased demand and secured significant contracts for energy grid modernisation and power distribution connectivity.

Additionally, ongoing rail market investments in ERTMS/ETCS deployments, and fleet renewals throughout Benelux, are fuelling strong demand for advanced rail signalling and onboard train communication networks.

Westermo networking equipment is already deployed across various train fleets in the Netherlands and Belgium, underscoring the company's reputation for domain expertise, quality and reliability.
