Wenglor presents EtherCAT Junction

>Depending on type, up to seven EtherCAT products can be connected to the rugged EtherCAT Junctions with IP67 protection. Two I/O ports are available as well. Simple access to process and parameters data, as well as device configuration from any location, make operation easy for the user. The Junction also make it possible to expand the overall system simply and flexibly with additional system components.

>The device unites numerous industry standards into a central interface at the field level. In addition to PROFINET, EtherCAT (Ethernet for control automation technology) is the second Ethernet protocol integrated into wenglor products as a standard feature. Like Switches based on the PROFINET protocol, EtherCAT Junctions are capable of connecting devices to each other within an industrial network, thus allowing for communication with sensors and actuators. As opposed to other industrial Ethernet solutions, decisive advantages of the EtherCAT protocol include, above all, extremely short cycle times and options for vertical integration into industrial networks.

>wenglor's new Junction is available in two variants: the ZAC50CN01 is equipped with 7 EtherCAT ports, 5 of which are PoE compatible. The somewhat smaller ZAC50CN02 provides 4 EtherCAT ports, 2 of which are PoE compatible.
