Split cable entry system with ATEX certification

Cable management specialist M Buttkereit is now able to offer ATEX certification with many of its cable entry systems including its split cable entry frames and glands. ATEX certification is available for the DES split cable frame, the DES-Pred split cable gland and most DES-PDM multi cable entry plates.

The split systems allow for the easy transit of cables into cabinets and enclosures and the subsequent sealing of the cables without the need for re-wiring or cutting the cable.

The DES cable entry system comprises of a two-piece outer frame coupled with a split cable retaining insert to capture and seal the cable. The outer frame is available in several different sizes holding anything from one to ten cable inserts. The inserts themselves are available in sizes for cables with outer diameters from 2mm to 34mm. Multi hole inserts are also available which can capture 2 or 4 cables in a single insert. Once assembled the system provides secure strain relief and ingress protection up to IP66.

The option of ATEX certification also applies to most DES-PDM push through single and multi-cable entry plates. Standard cables without connectors can be pushed through the frame and quickly sealed within a small area with the additional benefit of requiring only one cut-out. Ingress protection is to IP66.

The ATEX certified products are available upon request and satisfy ATEX directive 2014/34/EU. Valid for Group II, Category 3, Gas Zone 2, Dust Zone 22.
