Smart factory insights solution helps manufacturers eliminate costly downtime
Belden has announced the new Belden and Edge2Web Smart Factory Insights solution, powered by AWS IoT SiteWise. The solution helps manufacturers drive continuous improvement across the plant floor by digitising operations and visualising key performance indicators (KPIs).
Manufacturers are under pressure to improve efficiency, but turning plant floor data into action remains difficult. Many operations still run on a patchwork of control systems and manual processes that make real-time performance visibility hard to achieve.
The solution delivers: no-code tools to create custom KPIs, dashboards and scorecards without programming; multi-protocol support connecting more than 300 industrial protocols and device types; GenAI-powered summaries, alerts and digital playbooks for faster decision-making; and scalability from single-site deployments to global, multi-site operations.
The Belden and Edge2Web Smart Factory Insights solution combines Belden Horizon Data Operations with Edge2Web Factory Insights. Belden Horizon Data Operations connects more than 300 industrial protocols and normalises plant data acquisition and secure transmission to AWS IoT SiteWise. Edge2Web Factory Insights, a software-as-a-service application, computes and visualises key performance indicators such as overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), total effective equipment performance (TEEP), mean time between failures and mean time to repair (MTBF/MTTR), and energy consumption.
