Shaft coupling with short expanding cone hub

Despite constant or increasing overall performance, modern and innovative mechanical engineering is characterised by decreasing external dimensions. This development can also be observed in the area of drive technology, and this is where the KPS metal bellows coupling from JAKOB Antriebstechnik comes in.

Shaft coupling with short expanding cone hub

In addition to the well-known advantages of a bellows coupling (compensation of shaft misalignment, low moment of inertia, high torsional stiffness, absolutely no play, maintenance-free, temperature-insensitive all-metal design), the very short overall length of the expanding cone hub also comes into play for integrated installation. The expansion cone connects securely to an appropriately sized axial bore in the shaft.

By using an expanding cone hub on one side and a radial clamping hub on the other side, both a rotationally symmetrical, non-positive connection is maintained and assembly-friendly handling is ensured. However, the installation length within the overall system is significantly reduced. This makes it ideal for applications with small shaft distances and tight installation conditions.

The metal bellows coupling is ideal for highly dynamic drives due to its high torsional rigidity and low moments of inertia.

Overall, this coupling is suitable as a connecting element for complex drive systems, for gearbox attachments, connecting encoders as well as spindle and axis drives.
