SH Lighting appointed UK distributor for Quintex Ex line bushings
In line with the company's ethos of seeking out and partnering with both long established and emerging pioneering companies, SH Lighting is proud to announce its appointment by Quintex (Germany) as UK distributor for the company's high quality Ex line bushing product range. The new Quintex range of line bushings will now be available to the UK market directly from SH Lighting for use with Ex d and Ex i protection methods as well as those required for safe area applications.
The comprehensive range of Quintex quality line bushings are currently being used across industry, to electrically connect equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres. The connection is always established either between a flameproof enclosure and an enclosure of another type of protection in accordance with DIN EN 60079-0. Extensively, two flameproof enclosures are connected, thus ensuring cables are protected from direct contact. By varying the design, line bushings can also be used in intrinsically safe, measuring, control or in energy circuits.
Line bushings that do not feature cables can be used to seal flameproof enclosures of the 'd' type of protection. And if systems are to be extended at a later time, line bushings containing cables can quickly be used to replace the existing, sealed ones.
Quintex line bushings are available in two designs: Screwable and Pluggable. The default sizes of screwable line bushings range from M10 to M42 with custom designed housings being available to meet specific requirements.
If other sizes are required for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, they need to be discussed with certification bodies. With the 'pluggable' variant, sizes are adjusted to those of common sockets.
