Seals remain flexible under thermal cycling

Uni-form epoxy preforms, manufactured by Multi-Seals, are now available in M5-82, a linear epoxy systems that remains flexible under temperature changes. The post-cure flexibility of Epoxy M5-82 improves adhesion to component materials with dissimilar coefficients of thermal expansion. M5-82 was developed for under-the-hood automotive applications and other environments that require seal integrity under adverse temperature conditions.

Seals remain flexible under thermal cycling

Like all Uni-forms, M5-82 epoxy preforms are one-part epoxy resins that are solid at room temperature. When heated, Uni-forms melt and cure, forming a consistent seal that protects components from dust, moisture, oil, flux, solvents, conformal coatings, and other contaminants. Close tolerances on preform dimensions, consistent pre-mixed ratios of resin to catalyst, and consistent viscosity from beginning to end of batch ensure uniform, high-quality results. To accommodate diverse applications, Uni-forms are available in multiple configurations, with outside diameters as small as 0.89mm and as large as 18.29mm. Preforms can be dispensed as rapidly as 200 to 600 parts per minute with little or no operator training, and extensive operator experience is not required to produce uniform results. Preforms also eliminate pot-life concerns and costly cleanup procedures.
