Reducing fastening costs

Arnold Umformtechnik has explored fresh avenues in marketing the RIVTEX clinch system. When combined with the intelligent tool technology and process system produced by its subsidiary, Arnold & Shinjo, the RIVTEX range, consisting of clinch studs and self-piercing nuts, truly is a cost-reducing package.

Reducing fastening costs

The RIVTEX clinch system is suited to automated manufacturing - replacing the welded bolt and nut technology previously used in the manufacture of ready-to-fit steel components. It protects the surface structure of steel or aluminium sheets less than a millimetre thick, and prevents the corrosion damage usually produced by welding.

In particular the system cuts cost in terms of assembly times. And, when the specially adapted tool technology developed by subsidiary company Arnold & Shinjo is also used, RIVTEX fasteners can be applied during the manufacturing process as the sheet steel is stamped and pressed. The system achieves cycle speeds up to ten times faster than with welding. The work process can be carried out inside the pressing and stamping unit, thus saving at least one work operation.
