Precise pressure control under dynamic flow conditions

This regulator precisely controls flow rates from 0.1 to 250 l/min and incorporates inlet-pressure and flow-rate compensation to ensure a consistent outlet pressure. It can handle inlet pressures up to 10 bar.

Kendrion's new High Flow Pressure Regulator expands the Pure Flow Line, accommodating a broader range of flow rates. It effectively handles both high and low-to-medium flows. Unlike standard pressure regulators, it maintains a lower pressure drop even at high flow rates. This feature is especially important in applications like ventilation, anesthesia, and dental technology, where flow rates can fluctuate quickly, and accurate pressure control is crucial.

Stable pressure under fluctuating demand

What matters is not only the flow rate, but the ability to maintain a stable outlet pressure as demand changes. Integrated inlet-pressure and flow-rate compensation offsets fluctuations in inlet pressure and flow, ensuring stable pressure regulation even under rapidly changing flow conditions.

"Our goal with the High Flow Pressure Regulator was not simply to accommodate higher flow rates. The primary development objective was maintaining a stable outlet pressure across a wide flow range. The result is a solution with very low pressure drop that can be integrated flexibly and cost-effectively into a variety of device designs," explains Florian Falk, Product Expert in Life Science & Medical at Kendrion.

Integration across various device designs

Alongside performance, development focused on ease of integration across different device designs. The High Flow Pressure Regulator features a compact, modular design. Two versions are available for different integration concepts: the HFF 48.4 with a flange connection and the HFC 48.5 as a cartridge version for integration into manifold plates.

Seal materials and pressure settings can also be adapted to application-specific requirements. High control accuracy and low pressure drop are paired with an attractive price point for OEMs.

Developed with regulatory requirements in mind

The High Flow Pressure Regulator adheres to Kendrion's Pure Flow approach of 'MDR-ready by design'. Kendrion employs, among other measures, carefully selected, traceable materials and maintains controlled manufacturing conditions. Kendrion also supports medical device manufacturers in addressing applicable MDR requirements during qualification.

For biocompatibility, the development approach takes into account relevant standards such as ISO 10993 and ISO 18562. This facilitates both new product development and replacements within established product series.
