Outer rotor motor with integrated drive
Allied Motion announces the availability of a new outer rotor motor for pump and medical applications. The KinetiMax 42 EB is yet another family member in the KinetiMax brushless outer rotor motor range. The new, bidirectional brushless DC motor with integrated drive has a robust bearing system capable of handling high side loads.
The compact 42mm KinetiMax has a continuous output torque of 70mNm and a 31W output at a constant speed of 4300 RPM. The high-quality components ensure a minimum operating life of 20,000 hours. The integrated drive electronics has a speed set input to adjust the motor speed from 150 to 5000 RPM and comply with relevant EMC standards. Standard protection features include IP54 level protection sealing, thermal overload protection with automatic recovery and reverse supply voltage protection. The company says the KM42 motor is the shortest (only 54mm long) 42mm or less diameter motor with electronics integrated on the market.
Besides that, the KM 42 motor is claimed to be the lightest 42mm diameter EB motor with at least 70mNm of torque weighing only 225g. Another benefit, the KM42 is its maximum efficiency of up to 80%. This is also including the efficiency of the internal motor electronics.
