Intelligent combination of RFID and Sensors in one device
The BIS-V RFID controller is Balluff's answer to the markets desire for a compact evaluation unit that enables the simultaneous connection of up to four RFID read/write heads. Both HF (13.56 MHz) in accordance with ISO 15693 and ISO 14443 and LF (125 kHz) read heads can be connected on the front with plug connectors and are automatically detected. Moreover, the RFID controller is the only device on the market that allows via Profibus DP and EtherCAT the direct connection of sensors and actuators from an IO-Link hub, with PROFINET, DeviceNet and Serial Interface to follow.
>The result is considerable hardware and installation savings. The controller fulfills all requirements for an industry-ready version (IP65, metal housing) and is equipped with Profibus or EtherCAT interface and with a USB service interface to the PC. There are many typical application areas for the intelligent combination of RFID controllers and sensors/actuators. For identification tasks for material flow control in production systems, the user can profit from the low hardware usage and the low installation costs in areas like conveyor systems in mechanical engineering, assembly lines, electric suspension systems or in the entire intra-logistics field.
