The new Contactron hybrid motor starters from Phoenix Contact are the space-saving alternative to mechanical contactor circuits, offering a long service life. They offer up to four functions for motors: clockwise contactor, counter-clockwise contactor, motor protection relay, and Emergency Stop. An extensive range of compact switchgear for motors up to 4 kW are available - from the simple \'1-in-1\' direct starter up to the \'4-in-1\' reversing starter with motor protection and Emergency Stop.
The 22.5mm wide devices are available in the three power classes 0.6A, 2.4A, and 9A - with input voltages of 24V DC or 120/230V AC. The new 0.6A power class is aligned to motors with up to 0.18kW and allows low motor currents to be precisely set.
The hybrid technology - a microprocessor-controlled combination of rugged relay technology with wear-free semiconductor technology - reduces the load on the relay contacts, facilitates low-wear switching, and therefore extends the service life of these devices by a factor of ten when compared to standard, purely mechanical solutions.
