Henkel shows extensive adhesives capabilities at Southern Manufacturing
Regardless of which substrates need to be bonded and the conditions that prevail, if it's technically possible, Henkel says it can provide the most appropriate product. Its range of adhesives incorporate five core technologies - epoxies, acrylics, polyurethanes, silane-modified polymers and silicones. Henkel also provides dispensing equipment from simple hand-held devices to fully automated systems, specifically designed to make the application of products precise, economical and clean.
>The company's ability both technically and practically gives industry access to a comprehensive source of products and advice for every bonding requirement, in short 360 degree bonding, the overall theme of the Henkel stand.
>Continuous development of both its adhesive technologies and methods of application have resulted in several new additions being introduced at Southern Manufacturing 2015. The first is a highly flexible instant adhesive, LOCTITE 4902 that offers elongation of up to 155 per cent and provides a high-strength bond in seconds. It can be reliably used on plastics, rubber, metals and other substrates and is ISO 10993 biocompatible making it suitable for bonding disposable medical devices.
>Henkel's award-winning TECHNOMELT range of low-pressure moulding, hotmelt adhesives has also been expanded. New advanced formulations are now available that are UV-stabilised, ultra-clear and chemical resistant. They address the most demanding encapsulation requirements including all types of sensors, automotive products, new lighting designs and medical devices.
>Visitors to the show will also see the latest dispensing equipment development too. Henkel's newly patented Jet Valve system enables bubble-free dispensing at up to 300 drops per second; droplets can be as small as 0.3mm depending on the adhesive used. This new diaphragm technology is easy to integrate thanks to its compact design and requires little maintenance.
