Flir and UE Systems present integrated approach to predictive maintenance

At Underhall in Gothenburg, Flir will co-exhibit with UE Systems to demonstrate how thermal imaging and airborne/structure-borne ultrasound can be combined into a unified predictive maintenance workflow.

Flir and UE Systems present integrated approach to predictive maintenance

Underhall is widely regarded as a key meeting point for maintenance and asset management professionals in Sweden and the broader Nordic region. With increasing focus on condition-based maintenance, digital documentation and energy efficiency, the 2026 edition is expected to highlight practical solutions that help industrial operators reduce unplanned downtime while meeting stricter performance and sustainability targets.

At booth B10:11, Flir and UE Systems will present a joint technology approach that allows maintenance teams to correlate thermal anomalies with ultrasound findings during inspections. The aim is to support earlier fault detection in electrical systems, rotating equipment, compressed air networks, and mechanical assets - areas where combining technologies can improve diagnostic confidence compared to single-method inspections.

Among the solutions on display will be the Flir iXX-Series, developed to support structured, repeatable thermal inspections. The platform introduces app-based workflows designed to guide technicians through predefined inspection routes, automatically link images to specific assets, and synchronise findings with work orders and historical trend data. This reflects a broader industry shift toward standardised data capture and digital traceability in maintenance operations.

Flir will also demonstrate Assetlink, a connected asset management environment that aggregates thermography, sensor inputs, and asset information into centralised dashboards. By visualising condition trends and inspection results in context, the system is intended to help maintenance planners prioritise interventions based on risk and performance impact.

In addition to these platforms, visitors will be able to review Flir's wider portfolio of handheld thermal imaging systems - including the Edge, Cx-Series, Ex-Pro, Exx-Series, and T-Series - alongside UE Systems' ultrasound instruments for leak detection, mechanical analysis, and electrical inspection.

The joint presence at Underhall 2026 reflects a growing emphasis within Nordic industry on integrated diagnostic strategies. Rather than positioning thermal imaging and ultrasound as separate tools, the companies aim to show how correlated data sets can strengthen reliability programs and support data-driven maintenance decisions.

Flir and UE Systems representatives will be available throughout the event to discuss technical applications, regional market developments, and case examples relevant to Nordic manufacturing, energy, and process industries.
