This year, EMS will showcase advanced motion solutions from FAULHABER, including autoclavable brushless DC motors and 16mm precision gearheads designed for demanding medical and surgical applications.

For 18 years, the Hamlyn Symposium on Medical Robotics has attracted surgeons, engineers, researchers and medical technology innovators from across the globe. This year's theme, "Medical Robotics: The Complex Journey from Ideation to Value Creation", explores the challenges and opportunities involved in translating robotic innovations from concept to clinical practice.

As the exclusive distributor of FAULHABER products in the UK and Ireland, EMS will demonstrate how precision motion solutions can support the development of increasingly sophisticated robotic surgical systems, handheld medical instruments and diagnostic devices.

Among the solutions on display include FAULHABER's BHx series of autoclavable brushless motors. Specifically developed for medical applications where sterilisation is essential, these motors are designed to withstand repeated autoclave cycles while maintaining reliable performance and long operational life. Their compact design, high power density and smooth, precise motion make these motors well suited to surgical tools and robotic-assisted procedures where accuracy and reliability are critical.

EMS will also showcase FAULHABER's 16gpt 16mm precision gearheads, which offer maximum performance with minimum volume. By enabling accurate positioning and controlled movement in tiny spaces, the gearheads enable medical device manufacturers to meet the growing demand for smaller, lighter and more capable robotic systems.

"The pace of innovation in medical robotics continues to accelerate," said Francis Wong, business development manager at EMS. "Designers are looking to develop systems that are smaller, more precise and capable of delivering improved patient outcomes, while ensuring the devices meet stringent requirements for reliability, repeatability and sterilisation.

"FAULHABER motion solutions are engineered to address these challenges by achieving accurate, controlled motion in applications where space is limited and performance is critical."
