Vacuum technology is a key element for quality and efficiency in plastics processing - for example in thermoforming and recycling, the extrusion of films and the degassing and coating of plastics. From October 8 to 15, 2025, Edwards Vacuum will be presenting its vacuum solutions at the K trade fair.
Among other things, Edwards is presenting its dry-running extruder degassing system EXDM, which has been specially developed for plastics processing and recycling. The modular package is based on the robust, dry claw vacuum pump EDC, which is equally suitable for integration into new and existing systems. The EXDM vacuum solution offers users a reliable system with low operating and service costs.
"To ensure that EXDM runs efficiently and reliably on site, we offer users a wide range of service solutions that we tailor to their specific needs," summarises Frank Achenbach, Market Sector Manager at Edwards. "We take care of the systems from the initial on-site consultation to the design of a suitable vacuum system and customised maintenance contracts, ensuring that they perform to their full potential at lower operating costs throughout their life cycle."
Edwards will also be showcasing the EDS vacuum pump at the K trade fair. It is based on dry screw technology and is used when compounds are produced from a wide variety of components to ensure product properties and quality. It can be commissioned directly with little effort and flexibly adapted to all specific processes. The EDS vacuum pump as a system is capable of reliably producing complex compounds at low operating costs.
In the degassing systems and vacuum equipment product category, Edwards will also be exhibiting its Polycold MaxCool cryocooler at the K trade fair. The system can effectively capture water vapor in a closed process, up to 95 percent of the residual gas in high vacuum systems. Water vapor is typically the most reactive pollutant present. With our MaxCool cryocoolers, you can increase product throughput in your existing system by 20 to 100 percent and improve separation quality.
