Control two circuits from just one hydraulic source
British valve manufacturer Hy-Pro has introduced a new range of diverter valves that allow two separate circuits to be controlled from a single hydraulic source, saving considerable cost on additional valves and hoses. The DDV valves are G1/2, six-port valves available in both manual and direct acting solenoid versions, offering a simpler and more cost-effective alternative to conventional solenoid or proportional valves.
The DDV diverter valves build on the capabilities of earlier generations in the Hy-Pro range, but have been uprated to offer improved efficiencies. Both offer flows up to 60 l/min, with the manual version (DDVd) rated at 250 bar and the solenoid operated version rated at 210 bar in standard form, or 300 bar with a separate drain fitted. High precision machined components and matched spools and bodies give lower leakage rates (less than 10 cc/min at 210 bar) and higher pressure/flow characteristics than alternative products on the market.
The valves allow two double-acting cylinders or reversible hydraulic motors to be controlled separately from a single, four-way valve. The ability to switch between two independent operations can significantly increase system capability without incurring the significant extra cost of traditional solutions.
The DDV range delivers this function so cost-effectively because the design only allows one operation to be carried out at a time - a solution that actually provides a best-fit approach in a wide range of applications. These include tractors (lifting and then opening the bucket), recovery vehicles (tilting the bed and then operating the winch), road sweepers (driving the brush and raising/lowering it), and many others across a broad spread of industries.
