Constant force and wave springs added to range

Constant force and wave springs are the latest additions to Lee Spring's portfolio of products, increasing its stock spring range to over 15,500 different types of spring. Custom designs are also available. Manufactured from high yield 301 stainless steel strip, Lee Spring's constant force springs exert a near constant restraining force to resist uncoiling. This natural inbuilt stress resists load at an even rate and makes them suitable for use in retractor mechanisms. Common applications include counterbalance springs, car seat belt and cable retractors.

Elastic technical components enjoy growing success

Christian Bauer disc springs are manufactured to the tolerances, material specifications and performance parameters of DIN 2093, provide highly reliable 'elastic' technical components which can form the building block elements of spring packs. Under applied load or torque, the spring yields with a defined and repeatable deformation, while an opposing reaction force is at the same time stored as energy within the spring.

Getting stuck into the Love Truck

The problem involved a painted steel substrate, hand placed glass/ceramic tiles, substrate flexing and widely varying vibration over extended periods in outdoor conditions - in short a Tiki Love Truck! An unusual project for Intertronics but nonetheless well within the capabilities of the Adhere IRS 2125 flexible epoxy adhesive.

Contax has entered into an exclusive agreement with ultrasonic specialist, Telsonic UK to distribute its ultrasonic metal welding equipment throughout the UK for the wire and contact industry. These products are ideally suited to the automotive industry, or other manufacturing environments that use wire harness applications.

Nanosilica filled UV curable reinforced epoxy

A new nanosilica filled one component UV curable epoxy called UV22 has been introduced by Master Bond. This compound has been developed for coating, sealing and encapsulation applications. It features superb abrasion resistance, excellent optical clarity, low shrinkage and high physical strength properties.

Lasers provide high precision welding and cutting performance

Demanding and high precision welding and cutting applications on thin metal sheet or foil materials are now faster, simpler and more efficient following the introduction of the new StarFibre series of lasers from Rofin-Baasel. The StarFibre series offers laser sources of either 100W or 200W nominal output power with fundamental mode beam quality, and can be used in either pulsed or cw mode. This combination of high beam quality, choice of power and operational mode selection means that the StarFibre series lasers can be used for a broad spectrum of precision welding and cutting applications.
