Fast enclosure customisation speeds up security project utilities company

A UK electricity utility company has been provided with 100 customised enclosures within two weeks of order. Industrial enclosure manufacturer, Spelsberg, was able to provide a customised sample within an hour of request to Avanti Lighting, which had been contracted by the utility company to develop a weather-proof CCTV bracket and enclosure mounting system.

Kontron presents new AMD-based motherboard D3714-V/R mSTX including matching chassis

ontron is expanding its portfolio of industrial motherboards with the D3714-V/R mSTX. This is Kontron's first completely new motherboard development following the acquisition of Fujitsu's industrial motherboard division. The new product in the space-saving mini-STX format supports up to four independent displays in 4K resolution. Kontron says this makes it suitable for applications such as digital signage, kiosks, medical displays, thin clients and ultra-small industrial PCs. A matching SMARTCASE for universal use is available for the two D3714-R versions in the form of the S511 housing kit.

ODVA has announced today that the EtherNet/IP specification has been enhanced to enable EtherNet/IP networks to support the Ethernet-APL physical layer for process automation. Licensed vendors for EtherNet/IP technology can immediately start developing EtherNet/IP components for Ethernet-APL, including controllers, power switches, field switches, and instrumentation.
