Challenging offshore repair demands specialist skills

Challenging offshore repair demands specialist skills

The business of offshore oil and gas extraction is beset with challenges, not least maintaining productivity and reliability in a harsh working environment whilst ensuring staff safety. So, delivering routine maintenance services requires a concerted team effort, such as that demonstrated by Sulzer when replacing a large motor from an oil production vessel in the North Sea.

Robot palletiser increases throughput and reduces costs

Robot palletiser increases throughput and reduces costs

CKF Systems has designed, manufactured and installed a cutting-edge egg packing and palletising systems for one of the country’s largest egg suppliers at two of its sites. The systems have proved themselves already by running smoothly and dramatically improving the customer’s operations. The customer is a long-standing and major supplier of eggs to many of the UK’s leading supermarkets and CKF was commissioned to automate their packing in order to reduce the number of eggs that were damaged, increase throughput and reduce the amount of manual handling involved, reducing costs and increasing safety.

When traditional rust inhibitors fail, try Cortec

When traditional rust inhibitors fail, try Cortec"s EcoLine cutting fluid on bearings

Any bearings manufacturer who has experienced corrosion on his or her goods knows how critical proper protection is to avoid later delays and rejection. Oxidation occurs all too easily on smoothly polished bearings surfaces exposed to fluctuating humidity, temperatures, and condensation during shipping and storage. While Cortec VpCI papers and films are some of the most convenient protective options, some bearings manufacturers may prefer to apply liquid rust preventatives for one reason or another. In this case, it is important to remember that conventional is not necessarily better.
