Contrinex

Contrinex"s analogue inductives "get the measure" of textiles

A specialised textile-testing machine measures the thickness of a moving textile web in real at a high-speed. As the web passes over a roller, a precision Contrinex analogue inductive sensor, positioned directly above the roller, rests lightly on the top of the web. It senses the distance through the material to the roller, precisely measuring the thickness of the material.

Soft braking makes mine hoists strong

Soft braking makes mine hoists strong

Access shafts and hoisting systems are essential components for mining activities. To optimise transport, stopping and parking operations, these elevator machineries need high-quality redundant controls for speed, acceleration and deceleration. When a leading manufacturer of mine hoists Coal¬field Services needed a custom braking solution for one of its setups, it chose Svendborg Brakes and Twiflex, two brands of Altra Industrial Motion Corp., for the production of a reliable system.

Smart enclosures combine great performance and attractive design

Smart enclosures combine great performance and attractive design

Machine enclosures are never one-size-fits-all solutions; they are as distinctive as the equipment they protect. In fact, they are often custom-designed and made-to-measure - a time-intensive and expensive option. However, there is an alternative, as illustrated by PVA TePla, a vacuum specialist company for high-temperature and plasma process technology. It employs standardised housing to protect its systems and not just for reasons of efficiency.
