Danfoss delivers control without wires

Danfoss VLT FC102-series variable speed drives will soon be even easier and more convenient to set up, monitor and commission, thanks to the introduction of a new wireless HMI module. When used in conjunction with the MyDrive Connect app, this new module allows almost any modern tablet or smartphone to provide the same functionality as the Danfoss Graphical Local Control Panel, with the added advantage that no wired connection is needed. This wireless connectivity is a particular benefit in applications where the drive is difficult to access. Using the wireless HMI module and the app is also very convenient as it removes the need for a dedicated local control panel.

Festo has developed a new range of piezo valve based pressure regulators that deliver smooth, precise pressure control and metering suitable for a wide range of applications. Originally, the characteristics of piezo valves made them ideal for medical applications, as Paul Kendall, MedLab sector specialist for Festo UK explains: “Piezo valve technology has low energy consumption, does not generate heat and is silent in operation; so that it won’t disturb patients under treatment. Critically, the technology is also non-magnetic and so will not interfere with any other medical equipment.”
