Interroll presented its energy-efficient 24V drive technology and its powerful drum motors at Drives & Controls, including what it described as the world’s most powerful, stainless steel synchronous drum motor for belt conveyor systems, with a proven output of up to 1.1kW, a particularly high torque up to 100Nm and extremely high belt tension. With this drive solution the food and pharmaceutical industries have an ultra-hygienic and energy-saving option at their disposal. Its particu-larly com-pact design supports smaller turning diameters and thus also makes it possible to convey smaller items and handle a wide range of products on one single system.

Mitsubishi Electric highlights Smart Condition Monitoring at Drives & Controls

Prominent on the Mitsubishi Electric stand at Drives & Controls was its Smart Condition Monitoring (SCM) technology for predictive maintenance. The solution builds on the capabilities of add-on smart sensors by integrating them with an intelligent sensor controller for a more holistic approach to condition monitoring. The SCM solution uses the latest advanced FAG SmartCheck sensors for monitoring and feedback. The kit provides an integrated approach to monitoring the condition of individual assets, and enables a holistic approach to be taken to monitoring the asset health of the whole plant. Individual sensors retain the traffic light system for local warning indication at the machine, but at the same time information from multiple sensors is transferred over Ethernet to the intelligent sensor controller (this can be a Mitsubishi Electric PLC) for in-depth monitoring and more detailed analysis.

The stand-alone remote monitoring platform that uses battery powered wireless sensors to measure equipment vibration and temperature, enabling users to predict when equipment failure might be imminent and to better operate and maintain equipment.
