New inductive sensors combine compatibility with configurability

New inductive sensors combine compatibility with configurability

Inductive proximity sensors in the new IF60xx range from IFM Electronic offer the best of both worlds: compatibility with existing installations and additional functionality that provides important benefits in new applications. To ensure backwards compatibility, the new sensors provide both analogue and switching outputs, while for maximum versatility and to allow parameterisation, they incorporate an IO-Link interface.

AC cabinet cooling fans cut energy consumption by more than 30%

AC cabinet cooling fans cut energy consumption by more than 30%

EAO has introduced a new series of energy efficient electronically commutated (EC) axial fans. The latest additions to the Sanyo Denki San Ace family of equipment cooling fans, the San Ace 172AD and 172ADW measure just 99mm by 250mm but deliver the cooling performance and low noise requirements demanded by high static pressure cooling applications such as FFU (fan filter units), air purifiers, cooling inverters and high-density telecom cabinets.

New generation of compact laser drivers

New generation of compact laser drivers

PicoLAS has recently introduced a new generation of compact drivers for high power laser diodes. The LDP-CW series offers continuous wave (CW) output current to analogue modulated waveforms such as sinusoidal, rectangular or triangular. The current regulation concept of the LDP-CW series produces considerably fewer losses compared to the commonly used linear regulation concept.

Why the future of industrial automation needs TSN

Why the future of industrial automation needs TSN

There is a lot of hype about one of the most significant and transformational developments in standard Ethernet technology – Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN). This is an enabling technology for industrial communications that can help to realise IT/OT convergence and lead to substantial enterprise-wide improvements. In effect, TSN and TSN-compatible devices are key to setting up futureproof Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) frameworks that enhance productivity, flexibility and responsiveness.
