Washdown rated 700 Series inductives keep compost machine on track

Agriculture is increasing its use of complex automation in its machinery and an unusual example application is in the tracks of composting machines. Abssac invests in CNC turning centre for lead and ball screws

Abssac has installed a new ROMI GL250M CNC turning centre, which it says transforms its machining scope and capability. The turning centre offs integral C axis milling capability for off centre drilling, as well as a milling process for items such as key ways and polygon turning.

TÜV SÜD is investing £1.65million in a 1,800m2 fully automated EMC and RF testing facility. Based at TÜV SÜD’s Hampshire headquarters, the new facility’s three semi-anechoic EMC chambers will be in addition to five existing ones, significantly increasing test capacity.

Pallet making machine produces pallets eight minutes quicker

Vlakkelichtkoepel, based in the Netherlands, produces high quality, custom-made skylights and roof lights; each skylight requires a custom-sized wooden pallet for packing and transportation purposes. Manufactured in-house, the wooden pallets were being measured and assembled manually on the floor taking up considerable space and time. With over ten pallets being produced a day, Vlakkelichtkoepel wanted to design a new system that could yield considerable time savings.

Manufacturing company Metal LS turns to Delta for machine vision robotic solution

Metal LS, the Bulgarian manufacturer of door locking systems, door and window handles and building hardware, started planning a new automated assembly of door locks in 2019. The robotic systems that the company already used for other applications were too large for the planned production site, so the new solutions needed to be as compact and precise as possible, in addition to being state of the art.

Multi-axis CNC machine tools provide Indian shoe last manufacturer with competitive advantage

Rupmaya Shoe Last Industries, India’s largest shoe last manufacturer, recently completed a major CNC machine tool upgrade programme which has enabled the company to increase production capacity to 1,500 pairs of quality shoe lasts per day. The CNC machine tools are all based on NUM’s Flexium CNC platform, and are produced by the specialist Italian company, Newlast.
