A rising star of theatre land

Leading UK manufacturer of automated equipment for theatre productions, Absolute Motion Control, has specified Stober gearboxes for the delivery and retraction of stage props in west end show ‘The Ocean at the End of the Lane’. The National Theatre show running at the Duke of York’s theatre In London’s West End needed automated lifts which incorporate servo motors, gearboxes and drives to elevate door frames, a bath and benches from below the floor to the stage.

Hannover Messe 2022 rescheduled for beginning of June

Deutsche Messe AG, in close cooperation with the Hannover Messe exhibitor advisory board and partner associations VDMA (Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering) and ZVEI (Central Association of German Electrical Engineering and Digital Industry), has rescheduled HANNOVER MESSE 2022 for 30 May to 2 June. The show was originally planned for April.

Rittal celebrates the one millionth VX25

Rittal has cause to celebrate. Not only did it mark its 60th anniversary in 2021, as well as the 75th birthday of owner Professor Friedhelm Loh, but now it has seen its one millionth VX25 enclosure roll off the assembly line. It was a memorable celebration, that celebrated the extraordinary achievements of so many Rittal employees, including the VX25 design engineers, product managers and production technicians.

Agricultural and machinery experts develop vision harvesting robot with IDS camera

Lettuce is a valuable crop but labour shortages make it difficult to harvest this field vegetable, as sourcing sufficient seasonal labour to meet harvesting commitments is one of the sector’s biggest challenges. Moreover, with wage inflation rising faster than producer prices, margins are very tight. In England, agricultural technology and machinery experts are working with IDS Imaging Development Systems to develop a robotic solution to automate lettuce harvesting.

NSK doubles bearing life in continuous casting machine application

Cylindrical roller bearings mounted to a continuous casting machine were only lasting 1-2 months prior to failure at a major steelmaking plant in Europe. To remedy the situation, the facility invited NSK’s team of experts to review the application and operating conditions, a process that ultimately led to the adoption of NSK’s sealed spherical roller bearings. The result: annual savings of €14,850 in downtime and maintenance costs.
