ALVA Industries Announces Upcoming Season 3 of Tech Torqs

ALVA Industries announces the upcoming third season of Tech Torqs, its educational video series designed to answer common questions about motors and motion.

ALVA Industries Announces Upcoming Season 3 of Tech Torqs

Building on 15 episodes across the first two seasons, Season 3 will introduce nine new episodes exploring motor design, integration, and manufacturing, with practical explanations delivered by ALVA's technical experts in under a minute.

The first two seasons of Tech Torqs covered topics including: torque vs current and voltage vs speed; magnetic saturation in motors; cogging torque vs torque ripple; fiberprinting technology; permanent magnet motors; slotted vs slotless motors; thermal management in electric motors; gimbal motors; and frameless motor stator mounting methods.

Through each episode, ALVA engineers break down complex motor concepts into short, accessible explanations, helping engineers, integrators, and innovators better understand the principles behind motor performance and design.

Building on the previous seasons, Season 3 of Tech Torqs will focus on the practical engineering decisions involved in designing, integrating, and manufacturing electric motors.

Across nine episodes, ALVA's technical experts will explore how motor diameter and length affect torque, how motor constants influence performance, and how different winding configurations can be selected to meet specific torque, speed, voltage and current requirements.

The new season will also address topics including inertia mismatch, integrating slotless motors with gearboxes, controlling low-inductance motors, and the differences between inrunner and outrunner motor designs. Additional episodes will offer insights into slotless motor manufacturing and the challenges of scaling FiberPrinting technology from development to repeatable production.

The first two seasons of Tech Torqs are available on ALVA Industries' YouTube channel. Subscribe to follow the upcoming episodes and explore more insights into electric motor technology.
