ETLG Inertial Aerosystems is introducing the Model 2445 high-performance triaxial analogue accelerometer modules. Manufactured by Silicon Designs Inc, the Model 2445 is a drop-in replacement for the Model 2440 and can measure full scale acceleration in three orthogonal axes from +/-2 'g' to +/-200 'g'. By utilising advanced MEMS technology, the operating temperature has been extended from -55 to 125degC.
With their low-noise MEMS sensing technology, the 2445 is suitable for zero to medium-frequency instrumentation. The design includes an instrumentation amplifier on each axis that provides high drive capability and low output impedance. Onboard voltage regulation and an internal voltage reference eliminate the need for precision power supplies. The single-ended output scale factor is independent of the supply voltages from +/-12 to +/-16V DC. The six different 'g' models are relatively insensitive to temperature changes and gradients.
The 2445 accelerometers are assembled using state-of-the-art production technology to ensure enhanced reliability in extreme environments with high overrange, shock and vibration tolerance.
All models come with 1m, eight-wire cable and are capable of driving up 15m of additional cable. Suitable for use where space and weight are at a premium, applications for the Model 2445 accelerometers include machine control and instrumentation, robotics, vibration monitoring and analysis, crash testing, model analysis and flight testing.
